EXCERPT 26

WITNESS #9791: “What sort of training do they give you people?”
INTERVIEWER: “In dealing with witnesses, you mean?”
WITNESS #9791: “In dealing with extralogical bullshit.”
INTERVIEWER: “Well, naturally I can’t disclose this type of information with civilians, but I can say our training suffices for the most part.”
WITNESS #9791: “And what about the part it doesn’t?”
INTERVIEWER: “I can’t disclose that either but I imagine you can figure out what we have to deal with.”
WITNESS #9791: “What makes you think that I do?”
INTERVIEWER: “Your reports, naturally.”
WITNESS #9791: “And what do you reckon from it?”
INTERVIEWER: “You seem pretty familiar with the ins and outs of both scenarios, I’d say is my takeaway.”
WITNESS #9791: “No idea why you’d draw that conclusion, but sure, whatever you say.”
INTERVIEWER: “I don’t think you’re being quite honest when you say that, sergeant.”
WITNESS #9791: “And why’s that?”
INTERVIEWER: “Because I’ve seen plenty of the training they give your people, and I’ll be honest when I say I can vouch for its efficiency.”
WITNESS #9791: “That means a lot coming from you.”
INTERVIEWER: “I’ll take that at face value. Speaking of which…”
WITNESS #9791: “What’s that? More paperwork to go over?”
INTERVIEWER: “You could say that. Recognize this one?”
WITNESS #9791: “[Silence] Right. I see where this is going.”
INTERVIEWER: “Care to say to the recording what you’re looking at?”
WITNESS #9791: “Of course. Some horseshit Burroughs said under oath when we were all being investigated, is how I’d call it.”
